ASML’s capacity-expansion guidance is a key focus ahead of its earnings report as the semiconductor sector’s rally cools and investors seek support for market confidence.

U.S. chip stocks fell again, while South Korean semiconductor shares dropped to a two-month low Tuesday. Investors will watch results from ASML and important customer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. over the following 48 hours after 5:17 a.m. ET (09:17 UTC) Oct. 13.

The results are expected to offer fresh signals on semiconductor demand and ASML’s ability to expand supply. ASML’s scheduled release is also the next major event for the stock.

ASML has held above its daily exponential moving averages ahead of its Oct. 14 results, keeping the company’s outlook at the center of market attention.

ASML stopped disclosing quarterly order figures because of volatility in orders. Instead, it provides guidance for the number of machines it expects to produce this year and in the coming years.

Investors increasingly use that production outlook to assess demand strength and ASML’s ability to expand supply. The company’s earnings report and capacity guidance will provide the next concrete update for the semiconductor market.
