Johnson & Johnson reported third-quarter sales of $25.399 billion on Oct. 13, up 5.9% from $23.993 billion a year earlier, while net earnings fell sharply after a one-time special charge.

Net earnings were $210 million, or 9 cents per diluted share, compared with $5.152 billion, or $2.12 per share, in the same quarter a year earlier. The company said the $0.09 quarterly EPS figure reflected a one-time special charge related to a proposed talc-litigation resolution, the Firefly Bio acquisition and a Sail Biomedicines collaboration.

Innovative Medicine sales increased 7.7% to $16.757 billion. MedTech sales rose 2.5% to $8.642 billion.

Johnson & Johnson raised its 2026 reported-sales guidance to a midpoint of $101.2 billion. It also lifted its adjusted diluted earnings-per-share guidance to a midpoint of $11.10.

Chairman and CEO Joaquin Duato said, “Johnson & Johnson’s strong third-quarter performance and increased sequential growth reflect the accelerating momentum of our focused portfolio.”

“This progress, together with strategic investments in high-growth areas, gives us clearer line of sight to double-digit growth by the end of the decade,” Duato said.

The results add detail to Johnson & Johnson’s recent sales and earnings update, which covered the company’s higher 2026 sales outlook.
