ASML reported third-quarter net profit above estimates and said some customers are interested in equipment orders for 2029 and 2030, extending demand visibility for the semiconductor tools used to make advanced chips.

Customers are raising their short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts, driven mainly by expectations for the scale and duration of AI investment. Some have expressed interest in placing orders for 2029 and 2030.

ASML, the only maker of extreme ultraviolet lithography machines, supplies equipment used to produce advanced semiconductors. ASML’s planned supply for 2027 and 2028 would not fully meet customer demand. The company is examining ways to increase 2028 capacity beyond the 30% increase it previously forecast.

ASML posted net profit of 4.96 billion euros, compared with the 4.1 billion-euro estimate. Net sales were 11.66 billion euros, slightly below the 11.72 billion-euro estimate.

The company narrowed its 2026 net sales outlook to 44 billion euros to 45 billion euros, raising the bottom of its range from 43 billion euros. It forecast fourth-quarter sales of 14.2 billion euros to 15.2 billion euros.

ASML maintained its forecast that China will account for 20% of sales. The company is restricted from selling its extreme ultraviolet systems and some deep ultraviolet equipment to China.

The capacity question had been a focus ahead of the results in TokenPost’s earlier coverage of ASML’s expansion guidance.
