Customers Bank announced a collaboration with Palantir Technologies Inc. on Oct. 15 to apply Palantir software to deposit onboarding, targeting the digital application process and its document and risk-review steps.

Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) will support the planned work. Palantir engineers are working with the bank’s AI and technology teams, using the bank’s data and systems. The project aims to collect documents, verify entities and aggregate risk signals in real time during digital applications.

Customers Bank also has a multiyear collaboration with OpenAI, announced April 27, 2026, covering commercial lending, deposits and payments. The bank’s relationship with OpenAI began in 2023, when it adopted ChatGPT Enterprise.

Customers Bancorp had $21.7 billion in deposits at June 30, 2026, an increase of $2.8 billion, or 14.5%, from a year earlier. Its second-quarter results also included a pilot of an AI-powered loan-closing process: selected commercial loans closed in seven days, compared with a typical 30 to 60 days. The bank reached that milestone one to two quarters ahead of schedule.

Sam Sidhu, president and CEO of Customers Bancorp, said, “You only get one chance to make a first impression.”
