Nscale’s $103.4 billion in active and contracted AI infrastructure value faces a delivery test after work at its Glomfjord, Norway, data center fell six months behind schedule.

As of Oct. 16, the project was six months behind schedule. Cooling-system leaks, local rules, building delays and a fire have slowed progress. Nscale is developing the project for ByteDance.

The $103.4 billion figure represents long-term agreements, not revenue already earned. As of Aug. 31, just $2.6 billion of that value was active. Nscale had about 25,000 active GPUs among 461,000 GPUs classified as active or contracted. The data-center commitments Nscale has signed depend on infrastructure being delivered and put into service before it can generate revenue.

The commitments are concentrated: Microsoft and Anthropic account for about 85% of the total value. Microsoft agreements allow for payments of up to about $43.8 billion through December 2033. Agreements signed with Anthropic on Aug. 25 cover GPU capacity at the Monarch campus in West Virginia, with payments reaching as much as about $44.6 billion.

When Nscale filed for a proposed New York Stock Exchange listing under ticker NSCL on Sept. 18, it lacked binding financing commitments for the Anthropic agreements. On Sept. 25, the company announced $3.36 billion in convertible financing. The first $2.36 billion had closed, and Nvidia committed another $1 billion, with funding expected in mid-November.

For the six-month period through June 30, 2026, Nscale recorded $140.6 million in revenue and a net loss of $1.02 billion. Its revenue recognition depends on data-center infrastructure being purchased, installed and brought into service, so the value of signed agreements is distinct from sales already recorded.

Nscale’s customer contracts include delivery milestones, service requirements and penalties for delays. Anthropic may terminate a tranche, or portion of an agreement, if Nscale misses specified delivery timelines. Nvidia’s additional $1 billion is expected to be funded in mid-November.
