Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp.’s Solana (SOL) treasury grew by about 3,983 SOL and SOL equivalents in the week ended Oct. 16, extending its holdings at a slower pace than in recent weeks.

The balance reached approximately 2,590,266 SOL and SOL equivalents. In its previous treasury update, the company’s balance stood at about 2,586,282 after a weekly increase of approximately 22,070. The latest gain was less than one-fifth as large. The increase in the week before that was about 26,203.

Those figures measure changes in a combined balance that includes SOL-equivalent assets. They do not show how many SOL tokens the company bought during any given week.

DeFi Development established a program in September to offer up to $300 million of its Variable Rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock (CHAD) over time. The proceeds are intended primarily for additional SOL purchases.

The treasury update comes ahead of Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade, which targets transaction finality of roughly 150 milliseconds, compared with about 12.8 seconds under the current protocol. Its feature gate is expected to activate Wednesday, Oct. 21, around 11 a.m. ET (15:00 UTC). The new consensus mechanism is expected to take over about 18 minutes later.
