Lighter Adds 15-Minute Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) Binary Options
The contracts require full USDC funding and settle Up when a 15-minute window ends at or above its starting price.

Lighter’s Core exchange had 15-minute binary options tied to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) active Oct. 19, offering traders fixed-payout contracts on short-term crypto price moves.
Traders select Up or Down for each 15-minute window. A market settles Up if the ending price is equal to or higher than the starting price; otherwise, it settles Down. Each winning share pays 1 USDC, while a losing share pays nothing.
Positions must be funded in full with USDC. The contracts have no leverage or liquidations, and a trader can lose the amount paid for a share. Lighter supports market and limit orders.
Lighter’s interface and API are unavailable to people and entities in the United States.
The SEC-approved Cboe proposal for binary options tied to issuer key performance indicators covers specified securities contracts, not Lighter’s crypto-price markets. Lighter plans a broader options offering after the binary contracts.
