Intuitive Surgical narrowed its forecast for worldwide da Vinci procedure growth in 2026 to 14%-15% and outlined pricing changes expected to reduce instruments-and-accessories revenue per procedure.

The previous growth range was 13.5%-15.5%. Intuitive expects full-year procedure growth near the midpoint of the revised range.

The company estimates that its planned pricing changes, together with a policy-driven price reduction in China, will lower instruments-and-accessories revenue per da Vinci procedure by 3%-5% once fully implemented. That estimate assumes the mix of procedures, products and geographic markets stays the same. It concerns revenue per procedure, while the 14%-15% forecast concerns the number of procedures performed.

Worldwide da Vinci procedures increased 14% in the third quarter. Growth was 10% in the U.S. and 20% outside the U.S. Intuitive’s third-quarter financial results showed revenue rising 22% to $3.05 billion.

Intuitive plans to extend the useful lives of some EndoWrist instruments and introduce volume-based pricing for high-volume benign procedures. The China price reduction is expected to begin in November 2026.

The extended-life instruments are planned for a country-by-country rollout beginning in the first half of 2027. In the U.S., those instruments still require 510(k) regulatory clearance.
