Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi said Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan's company expenses were about the size of a software engineer's annual salary when annualized, framing the dispute as an accounting issue.

Qureshi said the charges included travel, but none of the trips were personal. He said Coplan disclosed the expenses and initiated the accounting and repayment process himself. Coplan fully repaid Polymarket and later began receiving a regular salary, Qureshi said.

The charges drew scrutiny during Founders Fund's 2025 investment review. They included apartment rent, private jet flights and other expenses. Polymarket had not generated revenue when the charges were incurred.

Qureshi said Coplan took no salary in Polymarket's early years and worked from an apartment at 21. He said his fund gave Polymarket its first investment term sheet and that he offered Coplan a personal loan.

Qureshi rejected the suggestion that outside investors uncovered concealed spending and expressed confidence in Coplan.
