Survey Finds 61.5% of Bank Respondents Expect Blockchain to Become Standard
The report covers institutional operators across several sectors, but does not identify which blockchain networks respondents plan to use.

A survey by zerohash and Ava Labs found that 61.5% of bank respondents expect blockchain to become standard in their businesses within two years. Another 15.4% said it was already standard.
The Onchain Readiness Report drew 162 completed online responses from executives and institutional operators at banks, brokerages, payments and fintech firms, asset managers and crypto-native companies. Responses were collected in August and September 2026.
The results are directional rather than representative of the banking sector. The survey used a convenience sample of self-selected respondents instead of a probability sample, and the published announcement does not state how many bank respondents took part.
Of all participants, 37.7% described blockchain as already standard in their business. The report put that figure at 57.9% for payments companies and 45.8% for brokerages.
Respondents also pointed to investment in stablecoin payments and settlement, at 37.7%, and real-world asset tokenization, at 25.3%, over the next 24 months. Tokenization ranked as the top priority for 42.3% of bank respondents.
Regulation featured as both an obstacle and a potential accelerator. Regulatory uncertainty and licensing topped the adoption barriers at 38.9%, while 68.5% identified regulatory clarity as the strongest potential accelerator. Mark Daly, zerohash’s chief business officer, said momentum among banks “is building fast.”
Its published findings do not say whether surveyed banks plan to use the Avalanche network or buy Avalanche (AVAX).
