Kalshi plans to introduce futures tied to U.S. inflation in December 2026, targeting banks and hedge funds with contracts linked to the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) and core CPI.

The CPI futures are being designed as standardized contracts that track those measures directly. They would give institutional customers a way to trade inflation exposure or hedge against it.

Kalshi has hired Michael Ashton, a former Barclays trader, to design the contracts and help develop the company’s institutional customer base.
