BTCS Weighs Bitcoin Allocation to CMCC Global’s Tokenized Fund
CMCC Global described the intended allocation as a triple-digit amount of Bitcoin but gave no precise figure. Any subscription depends on further agreements and regulatory conditions.

CMCC Global named BTCS S.A. an anchor investor for a potential Bitcoin (BTC) allocation to Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (LBAF), one of two existing CMCC Global funds whose interests are being offered through tokens.
In a Wednesday, Oct. 21 filing, BTCS disclosed that it may subscribe to tokenized LBAF units under a memorandum of understanding it describes as substantially nonbinding. The filing does not confirm a completed investment. Any subscription also depends on further agreements and regulatory and formal conditions. CMCC Global described the intended allocation as a triple-digit amount of BTC but did not state a precise figure.
“Our Active Treasury model has one rule: the bitcoin on our balance sheet should earn more bitcoin,” BTCS CEO Marlena Lipińska said.
Crest, launched in 2022, is denominated in U.S. dollars and seeks returns above U.S. Treasury bill yields. LBAF, launched in 2025, is denominated in BTC and targets net annualized returns of 8% to 12%, measured in BTC. Both funds use quantitative strategies in digital-asset markets managed by multiple managers.
The token offerings use El Salvador’s digital-asset rules. Tether’s Hadron provides tokenization infrastructure, while Bitfinex Securities handles issuance and trading services. The tokens are structured to match each fund share’s economic interest one for one, backed by participating shares and canceled upon redemption. The minimum subscription is one token, and LBAF tokens are priced at 0.0001 BTC.
Subscriptions opened Oct. 12, 10 days before CMCC Global announced the partnership on Thursday, Oct. 22. TokenPost previously covered the opening of the fund offerings.
Bitfinex Securities does not provide services to U.S. persons or people physically present in the United States, limiting U.S. investors’ access through the platform. Any BTCS subscription remains subject to the additional agreements and conditions.
