88% of surveyed organizations with annual revenue above $500 million were deploying or piloting tokenized-money use cases, a measure of activity that includes tests and does not establish full-scale adoption.

DBS published its The Great Rewiring: Money in a New Order report on Oct. 28. The study included business and finance leaders from companies generating more than $500 million a year in 11 markets, including the United States.

The 88% figure combines organizations deploying tokenized-money use cases with those still piloting them. It measures activity at either stage; it does not show that the same share has moved to full-scale operations. The distinction matters when reading the result as an indicator of adoption.

Stablecoins ranked first among the listed instruments at 63%. Tokenized deposits followed at 53%, and tokenized money market funds came in at 52%.

Respondents expected tokenized money to bring operational gains within two years. Some 72% anticipated better auditability and traceability, while 71% expected real-time cross-border payments. Another 66% expected stronger internal controls and governance, and 65% expected improved treasury liquidity management. These figures describe expectations, not benefits already achieved.

Banks were a desired access point for many respondents: 64% wanted a single point of integration through banks. Separately, 63% sought support for pilots, proofs of concept and integration.

Lim Soon Chong, DBS Group Head of Global Transaction Services, said, “For companies, fragmentation may add complexities and compliance obligations.”

The results include U.S. participants but provide no separate U.S. adoption rate. The 88% figure covers surveyed organizations across all 11 markets, so it is not a U.S.-specific estimate.
