QatarEnergy Extends Italian LNG Delivery Force Majeure Through Year-End
Edison says three additional cargoes are affected, bringing the total to 38 since early April.

QatarEnergy extended its LNG force majeure on Italian deliveries through year-end, adding three cargoes to a disruption now covering 38 cargoes as Europe’s benchmark gas price hit its highest level since 2022.
QatarEnergy notified Edison that it could not deliver three additional cargoes scheduled for Italy’s Adriatic LNG terminal. The 38 affected cargoes from early April through year-end represent about 5 billion cubic meters of gas. By Oct. 27, Edison had replaced 27 cargoes, about 2.7 billion cubic meters, and could source enough gas to serve customers and meet its commercial commitments.
Front-month Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) natural gas futures briefly reached €100 per megawatt-hour at 9:35 a.m. ET (13:35 UTC) on Wednesday, Oct. 28, up about 4% from the previous session.
The extension replaces an early-December deadline with year-end. TokenPost covered earlier notices on Sept. 28 and Oct. 7.
