Bermuda Selects WalletConnect for Merchant Crypto Payments
Bermuda-based Premier Tickets is expected to be the first merchant in a rollout targeted for the second quarter of 2027.

Bermuda has selected WalletConnect for a planned merchant crypto-payment program, with a local ticketing company expected to be first in a rollout targeted for the second quarter of 2027.
Premier Tickets (PTIX), a Bermuda-based online ticketing company, is expected to join first. The planned checkout would send a customer’s payment from their wallet to an event organizer’s wallet, with funds designed to arrive in seconds. The plan does not name the digital assets or blockchain to be used, or give a specific launch date within the quarter.
The selection adds a named merchant to Bermuda’s broader onchain-economy ambition. The government’s January plan named Circle and Coinbase as intended providers of digital-asset infrastructure and tools. In May, Bermuda and the Stellar Development Foundation announced plans to move key payment and financial-services activity onto Stellar. WalletConnect Pay listed Stellar among the networks it enabled in the third quarter, but that does not establish which network PTIX payments will use.
WalletConnect Pay also supports USDT payments on TRON. The Bermuda plan does not specify whether PTIX will use USDT or any other asset.
Premier Tickets is expected to be the first merchant in the second quarter of 2027; the plan gives no timetable for other merchants.
