Microsoft priced $25 billion in senior unsecured bonds Thursday, Oct. 29, advancing a 10-tranche U.S. sale whose proceeds are intended to cover capital expenditures, share repurchases and broader corporate needs.

The company's earlier sale plan split the debt into 10 tranches, with maturities spanning two to 40 years. Net proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes.

Technology-sector borrowing has grown alongside investment in AI infrastructure. By early May, Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft and Oracle together represented more than 15% of U.S. investment-grade debt issuance, a backdrop to the sector's AI-linked bond borrowing.
