Capital B executive Alexandre Laizet linked France’s 120% debt-to-GDP ratio to the case for a Bitcoin (BTC) treasury strategy, saying borrowed money is spent rather than invested.

“Europe is in need of Bitcoin,” Laizet said, tying debt pressure and currency debasement to the strategy. He also said France’s capital markets are suited to a Bitcoin treasury approach.

The discussion covered Capital B’s ambition to become Europe’s most capitalized company and credit investors’ interest in Bitcoin-backed credit. France’s debt stood at 119% of GDP during an earlier budget vote.
