Morgan Stanley plans to use the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Tokenization Service to create tokenized representations of U.S. stocks and Treasury securities, the bank said. It is among the service’s first bank adopters.

DTCC launched its Tokenization Service Oct. 28 to create tokenized representations of securities held by its Depository Trust Company (DTC). Eligible securities can be tokenized on Canton and DTCC’s private Besu network.

DTCC designed the service to improve asset liquidity, make collateral transfers more efficient and increase capital efficiency.
