Anthropic IPO Valuation at $1.5 Trillion Questioned; One Says $1 Trillion May Be Closer

Three large investors planning to join Anthropic’s IPO questioned whether the company can support a $1.5 trillion valuation, with one saying it may be closer to $1 trillion.

Those doubts followed an unwind of AI-related investments that helped drive a sharp stock-market selloff.

Anthropic’s last private funding round, in May, valued the company at about $965 billion. The $1 trillion figure is close to that benchmark, while $1.5 trillion would be higher.

Earlier investor expectations for the IPO valuation ranged from $1.5 trillion to $1.6 trillion after a technology-share slump.
