Core Scientific’s Mining Business Generated 7.5% of Q3 2026 Revenue
Colocation revenue totaled $215.4 million, compared with $17.5 million from mining operations.

Bitcoin (BTC) mining generated 7.5% of Core Scientific’s third-quarter revenue as Chief Financial Officer Jim Nygaard expects the company to complete its mining exit in Q4 2026.
The company recorded $232.9 million in revenue for the quarter. Mining contributed $17.5 million: $12.3 million from self-mining and $5.2 million from digital asset hosted mining. Colocation revenue totaled $215.4 million, more than 12 times mining revenue.
Core Scientific expects to provide high-density colocation services as its sole business in 2027. Its online mining machine count was nearly 50% lower at Sept. 30 than at year-end 2025, a decline detailed in TokenPost’s earlier coverage of the fleet.
Nygaard expects the mining wind-down to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
