PhilRatings Assigns PSBank Its Highest PRS Aaa Credit Rating
The stable outlook signals no expected rating change over the next 12 months. PSBank's gross nonperforming loan ratio was 4% as of June 30, below the thrift-banking sector's 6.3% average.

Philippine Rating Services Corporation (PhilRatings) assigned Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) its highest PRS Aaa issuer credit rating. The grade indicates a very strong capacity to meet financial obligations compared with other Philippine corporate borrowers.
The rating carries a stable outlook, which signals that PhilRatings expects it to remain unchanged over the next 12 months. The rating reflects PSBank's market position and capitalization, along with support from parent Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank).
As of June 30, 2026, PSBank was the Philippines' largest thrift bank by assets and capital. It had 232.0 billion pesos in assets and 44.2 billion pesos in equity. Its capital adequacy ratio was 24%.
PSBank's gross nonperforming loan ratio was 4% at the end of June, compared with the thrift-banking sector's 6.3% average. Metrobank held an 88.4% stake in PSBank.
PhilRatings will continue monitoring the bank and may change the rating or outlook if circumstances warrant.
