Dogecoin (DOGE) extended its decline as weakness across the broader cryptocurrency market intensified following the CLARITY Act setback and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s FOMC meeting. DOGE fell about 4% to $0.079, while Bitcoin dropped 0.8% and Ethereum declined 1.6%.
The Dogecoin price remains under pressure despite signs of accumulation from large holders. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez reported that whale addresses purchased roughly 240 million DOGE between September 9 and September 14. The accumulation occurred as DOGE declined from $0.091 to $0.081, suggesting whales used lower prices to increase their holdings.
However, whale demand has not been enough to overcome broader selling. CoinGlass data showed Dogecoin recorded about $39 million more in spot outflows than inflows between September 9 and September 14. The selling pressure pushed DOGE to its lowest level since August 20.
Meanwhile, spot Dogecoin ETF inflows returned on September 16. SoSoValue data showed $248,510 flowing into the Grayscale Dogecoin Trust ETF (GDOG). The Bitwise Dogecoin ETF, which is expected to close in October, and 21Shares’ TDOG recorded no inflows.
DOGE was among only four crypto ETFs, alongside Solana, Tron and Hedera, to attract inflows that day. In contrast, U.S.-listed crypto ETFs collectively suffered nearly $600 million in outflows, their largest single-day withdrawal since June 2026, amid concerns over the Senate’s failure to advance the CLARITY Act.
Technical indicators also point to continued downside risk. Dogecoin has fallen below its 50-day exponential moving average near $0.081 and broken beneath descending-triangle support. A sustained three-day close below this area could expose DOGE to a roughly 14% decline toward $0.069.
The Relative Strength Index stands near 42 and is trending lower, indicating weakening momentum. However, a recovery above $0.086 could improve the short-term Dogecoin price outlook and potentially open the way toward the 200-day EMA around $0.093.
