Prediction Markets Give Ether 68% Odds of Reaching $3,000 in 2026
Contracts also assigned Zcash a 53% chance of reaching $2,000, while year-end markets measure closing prices rather than temporary price touches.

Prediction-market contracts gave Ether (ETH) a 68% chance of reaching $3,000 by Dec. 31, 2026, while a separate Zcash market assigned a 53% probability to ZEC reaching $2,000.
The Ether contract recorded about $16.05 million in volume. Its implied probabilities fell to 37% for a $3,500 target, 19% for $4,000, 6% for $5,000 and 1% for $10,000.
The contract also assigned Ether a 33% probability of falling to $2,250 and a 19% probability of reaching $2,000 on the downside.
Ether traded near $2,689 at about 10 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC) on Sept. 26. Reaching $3,000 from that level would require an increase of about 11.6%.
The Zcash market recorded about $626,556 in volume. An earlier reading placed the probability of ZEC reaching $2,000 at 41%, compared with 53% in the latest available snapshot.
ZEC traded near $1,543 at about 10 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC), requiring a gain of about 29.6% to reach $2,000. The same market assigned 36% odds to a decline to $700 and 21% to a decline to $500.
The contracts measure whether an asset reaches a specified price during the period, rather than whether it remains there. A temporary price spike can therefore produce a positive result even if the token later trades below the target.
Year-end contracts use a different structure by evaluating the asset near the end of the settlement period. A comparable Solana (SOL) contract evaluates prices through 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 31, 2026.
The probabilities reflect contract prices and trading activity, not a consensus forecast among all crypto investors. Lower-volume markets, including the Zcash contract, can also produce readings that are less representative of broader market expectations.
All of the targets are tied to settlement periods ending Dec. 31, 2026.
