The Reserve Bank of Australia raised its policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.6% on Sept. 29, its highest level since November 2011.
The increase matched market expectations and marked another step higher for Australia’s benchmark interest rate. The move may influence global yields, crypto liquidity and investor risk appetite.
At 4.6%, the rate is near a 15-year high. The move also places Australia’s central bank rate at a level not seen since late 2011.
