Hedera Retraces After Late-September Advance as Support Nears

Hedera (HBAR) fell about 24% from its Sept. 28 close through Oct. 7. An IBM Cloud listing for IDTrust remains a key enterprise development.

Hedera (HBAR) has given back much of its late-September advance, falling about 24% from a Sept. 28 close of $0.122014 to $0.092842 on Oct. 7 as the token approaches technical support levels identified in an Oct. 8 analysis.

The historical prices use UTC dates. HBAR closed at $0.090466 on Sept. 23, when The Hashgraph Group announced that IDTrust had been validated and listed in the IBM Cloud Catalog. The timing links the developments in the market record but does not establish that the listing caused the advance.

IBM’s catalog lists IDTrust as a blockchain product provided by The Hashgraph Group. The platform is designed for self-sovereign identity credentials covering AI agents, devices and people, with credentials anchored on Hedera’s distributed ledger. The catalog page shows a last-update date of July 21, 2026.

The listing provides access to IDTrust through IBM’s cloud marketplace. It does not establish that IBM adopted HBAR or that the listing will directly create demand for the token. No customer, revenue, pricing or deployment figures were disclosed.

“We have solved that problem with our IDTrust solution,” The Hashgraph Group co-founder and CEO Stefan Deiss said. Naemi Benz, vice president of IBM Partner Ecosystem DACH, said IBM had recognized the enterprise potential of Web3 solutions.

Hedera’s governance structure is another point of focus in the background. Its official council page lists 33 organizations across 13 industries. Council members operate network nodes and hold voting rights, including equal votes on network technology updates.

Hedera announced Hitachi America’s admission to the council on Jan. 15, 2024, but public statements from Hedera and Hitachi do not confirm a Sept. 30 departure. “We welcome Hitachi to the Council,” Bill Miller, co-chair of the Hedera Council membership committee, said when the company joined.

The Oct. 8 technical snapshot showed a relative strength index of 49.6, a 12-day exponential moving average of $0.0981 and a 26-day average of $0.0939. The analysis identified $0.0899 as first support, followed by $0.0868 and $0.0818.

It listed resistance at $0.0980, $0.1030 and $0.1061. These levels are technical-analysis outputs rather than explanations of why HBAR moved.

Earlier coverage of the IDTrust listing described the Hedera-based identity platform and noted that commercial deployment details had not been disclosed.
