NEAR Protocol Leads Crypto Decliners With 16.41% Drop as 70 Fall

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) posted the steepest decline among the 90 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins, as broad losses hit the market over the 24 hours ending Oct. 8 at 8:03 p.m. ET (Oct. 9 at 00:03 UTC).
NEAR fell 16.41% to $4.47. Pump.fun (PUMP) declined 11.19% to $0.00554, while LayerZero (ZRO) dropped 10.74% to $1.96. Zcash (ZEC) lost 10.66% to $1,186, and Venice Token (VVV) fell 10.55% to $22.81.
The move followed an earlier market update in which NEAR also led declines. The latest snapshot showed losses spreading across most of the tracked market, with 70 decliners and 20 advancers.
Bitway (BTW) led the gainers, rising 6.71% to $1.39. Aerodrome Finance (AERO) advanced 4.68% to $0.832, while Stacks (STX) gained 2.76% to $0.381. MemeCore (M) rose 2.74% to $1.07, and Cosmos Hub (ATOM) added 2.28% to $1.76.
Bitcoin (BTC) stood at $81,716, down 1.83% over 24 hours. Ether (ETH) traded at $2,475, a 3.77% decline.
