Bitcoin Rises 0.60% as Crypto Market Cap Falls to $2.82 Trillion

Bitcoin reached $83,051 while Ether, XRP, BNB, Solana and Dogecoin also gained. Crypto liquidations totaled $46.9 million over 24 hours.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose 0.60% to $83,051 at 5:04 p.m. ET (21:04 UTC) on Oct. 10, even as the total crypto market value declined and leveraged positions were liquidated across major exchanges.

The overall crypto market capitalization fell 1.73% to $2.82 trillion over 24 hours. Trading volume reached $47.15 billion during the same period.

Ether (ETH) climbed 1.00% to $2,509, while XRP (XRP) gained 1.24% to $1.41. BNB (BNB) rose 1.32% to $751.16.

Solana (SOL) advanced 1.15% to $110.38, and Dogecoin (DOGE) increased 1.21% to $0.0861.

Bitcoin represented 59.1% of the total crypto market, while Ether accounted for 10.9%. The market remained concentrated in the two largest assets despite gains across several major tokens.

NEAR Protocol was the strongest performer among the top 38 cryptocurrencies, rising 13.27%. Quant was the weakest, falling 2.07%.

Liquidations reached $46.9 million across Binance, Bybit and OKX over the 24-hour period. Short positions made up $33.6 million of the total, while long positions accounted for $13.3 million.

The latest move follows an earlier session in which Bitcoin edged higher while the broader crypto market declined.
