Bitcoin (BTC) sentiment registered 69 on Oct. 12, keeping the market gauge in the “Greed” category, while U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $729 million in combined net outflows on Oct. 7-8.

The reading was timestamped at midnight UTC on Oct. 12, or 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 11. The index stood at 61 on Oct. 11, 64 on Oct. 10, 59 on Oct. 9 and 64 on Oct. 8.

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $484.9 million in net outflows on Oct. 7 and $244.1 million on Oct. 8. A $21.1 million inflow on Oct. 9 reduced the net outflow across the three sessions to $707.9 million.

The 30-year U.S. Treasury yield was 5.67% on Oct. 7 and 5.60% on Oct. 8. The recent ETF withdrawals and Treasury-market moves occurred while the sentiment gauge remained in its broad “Greed” range.

The Crypto Fear and Greed Index is a 0-to-100 Bitcoin sentiment gauge. It combines Bitcoin volatility, market momentum and volume, social-media activity, Bitcoin dominance and Google Trends data.

The index is intended as a sentiment indicator rather than a measure of the positioning of all crypto investors or a standalone trading signal. Its latest reading kept sentiment in the same broad category as TokenPost’s earlier coverage.
