Near Protocol Slips Below $5 as $4.50-$5.30 Support Zone Emerges

Near Protocol (NEAR) fell below $5 on Oct. 13 as weakening short-term momentum left the token below its 20-day average and focused attention on a $4.50-$5.30 support zone.

NEAR traded at $4.976, down 2.30% for the session, after moving between $4.89 and $5.368. The token was about 17% below the $6 level highlighted in the technical outlook.

The 20-day simple moving average stood at $5.029. NEAR’s 50-day, 100-day and 200-day averages were $3.559, $2.675 and $2.208, respectively.

Daily momentum indicators also weakened. The MACD line was 0.442, below its 0.521 signal line, while the histogram was negative at -0.079.

On the weekly chart, NEAR stood at $4.967, down 15.76% from the $5.896 weekly open. The weekly low was $4.89, while the Supertrend level was $2.951 and the Awesome Oscillator remained positive at 2.544.

Giannis Andreou identified $4.50-$5.30 as the key support zone and $6 as the level needed for a confirmed weekly breakout. “NEAR’S NEXT BIG TEST IS $6,” Andreou wrote.

His conditional upside levels were $8.809, $10.93 and approximately $16, with successful retests required after a breakout. From a reference price of $5.428, the move to $16 represented approximately 195% upside.

A break below $4.50 would weaken that support structure and put $3.98 in focus, followed by the earlier $2-$3 base in Andreou’s downside scenario.

Estimated liquidation bands were concentrated around $4.85-$4.90 and $4.50-$4.60 below the market. Additional bands appeared near $5.10, $5.50-$5.55 and $5.75-$5.80.

The setup follows earlier coverage of NEAR’s choppy trading. The immediate technical levels are whether NEAR can reclaim $5.03, move through $5.30-$5.37 and confirm a weekly breakout above $6.
