Zcash Scientist Repeats $5,000 Call as Oct. 14 Close Stands 31% Below Sept. 26
Ben-Sasson called $2,000 a “no-brainer” and said he was placing that prediction on OffMarket, while giving no timeframe for the $5,000 call.

Zcash founding scientist Eli Ben-Sasson called $2,000 a “no-brainer” for Zcash (ZEC) on Oct. 15 and repeated an earlier $5,000 prediction as the token’s Oct. 14 close remained 31% below its Sept. 26 level.
Ben-Sasson said he was placing the $2,000 prediction on OffMarket; no timeframe was given for the $5,000 call.
ZEC closed at $1,146.78 around 8 p.m. ET (23:59 UTC) on Oct. 14. Reaching $2,000 from that close would require a gain of about 74%. ZEC closed at $1,653.12 on Sept. 26, making the Oct. 14 close about 31% lower.
Zcash supports shielded transactions, which encrypt addresses, amounts and memo fields, as well as transparent transactions that can expose wallet and transaction details publicly. A prior look at prediction-market odds for ZEC reaching $2,000 in 2026 covered a separate market measure.
