Ether (ETH) moved back above $2,400 on Thursday and finished its Oct. 15 UTC session near $2,440, as U.S. inflation data and Treasury yields sent markets mixed signals.

Ether traded below $2,400 earlier in the session before recovering, returning to a level it had tested during its earlier retreat from $2,700.

U.S. final-demand producer prices rose 1.3% in September from August, seasonally adjusted, and increased 6.3% over 12 months. The monthly gain was the largest since March 2022, while the annual increase was the biggest since December 2022.

Final-demand goods prices rose 2.6%. Final-demand energy prices climbed 10.8%, accounting for more than 80% of the increase in goods prices. A separate measure excluding food, energy and trade services rose 0.5% for the month and 5% over the year.

The September producer-price figures followed consumer-price data released a day earlier. Consumer prices increased 0.6% from August and 3.7% over 12 months, compared with a 3.4% annual rise in August.

The 10-year par yield was 5.10% on Thursday, 0.09 percentage point below its 5.19% reading on Wednesday.
