Bitcoin Approaches $87,165 20-Month Average Near 2026 Opening Level
The average is close to Bitcoin’s $87,490 opening level for 2026. Bollinger Bands around it had an upper limit of $121,640 and a lower limit of $52,694 on Oct. 16.

Bitcoin (BTC) is approaching a trend line that stood at $87,165 on Oct. 16, near its $87,490 opening mark for 2026.
The market-cycle framework uses Bollinger Bands around the 20-month simple moving average and treats that average as an “inflection frontier.” The bands’ upper and lower limits stood at $121,640 and $52,694, respectively, on Oct. 16. Bitcoin fell below the average in December 2025. The bands use standard deviation and are not intended to produce buy or sell signals.
The framework treats a successful move back above the average as a possible precursor to new cycle highs. The average is also near the area where Bitcoin failed several times to regain $87,000 earlier this month.
