Ether (ETH) derivatives readings on Oct. 17 combined a call-heavy options mix with a higher liquidation value from long positions, while futures open interest stood at $30.59 billion.
Calls made up 62.25% of options open interest at 9:44 a.m. ET (13:44 UTC). The share describes the mix of outstanding options contracts; it does not establish net bullish positioning, since each open contract has both a buyer and a seller.
A liquidation snapshot at 9:57 a.m. ET (13:57 UTC) showed $32.5 million in value over the prior 24 hours across eight perpetual-futures venues. Of the $32.5 million total, $23.1 million came from long positions and $9.4 million from short positions. The figures cover liquidations, not all trading activity.
Futures open interest was $30.59 billion at about 11:40 a.m. ET (15:40 UTC). Open interest measures contracts that remain outstanding. The options, liquidation and futures readings were taken at different times.
The additional futures and liquidation figures add context to earlier coverage of Ether options open interest.
