Zcash Trades Near $1,154, Down 20.9% Over 30 Days
Futures open interest stood near $2.31 billion on Oct. 20. A draft plan for Zcash’s proposed NU7 upgrade still listed its activation height as TBD when checked.

Zcash (ZEC) traded at $1,154.14 at 9:08 a.m. ET (13:08 UTC) on Oct. 20, down 20.9% over 30 days, while futures open interest stood near $2.31 billion.
ZEC closed Oct. 19 at $1,151.40 on a UTC daily basis. The 30-day change covers a different period from the roughly 30% decline over three weeks described during Zcash’s Oct. 19 rebound.
The Zcash ETF (ZCSH) began trading on NYSE Arca on Aug. 25. It offers investors a way to gain exposure to ZEC through brokerage accounts.
Shielded pools held 4.96 million ZEC on Oct. 19, compared with 4.91 million ZEC 28 days earlier, a 0.9% increase. The balance shows how much ZEC is held in those pools, not how often it is used in private transactions.
Zcash’s proposed NU7 upgrade would cut the target time between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. When checked on Oct. 20, the draft deployment plan still listed the mainnet activation height as TBD and designated Oct. 20 as the date for setting it.
