Brent crude futures for December 2027 delivery moved above $87 a barrel Tuesday, extending a rise in longer-dated oil prices that can add to inflation concerns across risk-sensitive markets.

The latest price is for oil scheduled for delivery in December 2027; it does not describe the price of oil for immediate delivery.

Higher oil prices can raise inflation concerns and put upward pressure on bond yields. Those conditions can weigh on risk-sensitive assets, including cryptocurrencies.

Separately, U.S. fuel oil prices rose 74.2% from a year earlier in September. The fuel oil index increased 15.3% from August on a seasonally adjusted basis. Those figures describe September consumer prices, while the Brent futures price concerns delivery more than a year later.
