U.S. stocks rose in afternoon trading Oct. 20 as oil and the 10-year Treasury yield gave back early gains, while CoreWeave and semiconductor shares recovered from earlier losses.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were higher at 2:09 p.m. ET (18:09 UTC).

Crude oil prices rose early in the session before turning lower. The 10-year Treasury yield followed a similar course, rising at the start of the day and then declining.

CoreWeave shares also changed direction, climbing after an initial drop. Semiconductor stocks recovered from earlier losses.

Meta Platforms is scheduled to report quarterly results Wednesday evening, Oct. 21.
