TRX Supply Rose for 112 Days Through Oct. 20 as Burns Lagged Issuance
Burns offset 63.5% of issuance in the first 16 UTC days of October. Third-quarter stablecoin settlement on TRON totaled $2.2126 trillion, up 5.1% from the prior quarter.

TRON (TRX) supply rose on every UTC calendar day from July 1 through Oct. 20, as issuance outpaced burns and added 22.9 million tokens during October’s first 16 UTC dates.
The 112-day run spans 8 p.m. ET June 30 (00:00 UTC July 1) through 8 p.m. ET Oct. 20 (00:00 UTC Oct. 21). Across the first 108 days, ending Oct. 16, supply gained 148,636,338 TRX after burns.
From 8 p.m. ET Sept. 30 (00:00 UTC Oct. 1) through 8 p.m. ET Oct. 16 (00:00 UTC Oct. 17), the network issued 62,650,984 TRX and burned 39,778,374. The difference added 22,872,610 TRX to supply. Burns offset 63.5% of issuance during those 16 UTC calendar dates.
The third-quarter totals showed the same overall pattern. For July 1 through Sept. 30 on UTC date boundaries, issuance was 360,217,352 TRX and burns were 234,453,624, producing a net supply increase of 125,763,728. Burns covered 65.1% of issuance in the quarter, 1.6 percentage points more than in early October.
Meanwhile, stablecoin settlement volume on TRON reached $2.2126 trillion in the third quarter, up 5.1% from $2.106 trillion in the second quarter. Settlement volume tracks the value transferred in stablecoins; it does not directly determine how much TRX is burned in transaction charges.
TRON uses Bandwidth for transaction data and Energy for smart-contract computation. Users can obtain these resources through staking or delegation, and the resources replenish over time. If an account lacks enough resources to cover a charge, TRX is burned to cover the shortfall. Transfer value alone therefore does not set the amount of TRX burned.
Block rewards add TRX to supply on a separate track: each produced block generates 8 TRX in block-production rewards and 128 TRX in voting rewards. Network governance can change those reward amounts.
