Zcash Price Model Puts 2027 High at $1,719.08, Below the $2,000 Mark
The NU7 network upgrade remains planned for Nov. 5.

An Aug. 26 price model projects a 2027 peak of $1,719.08 for Zcash (ZEC), below $2,000.
The model puts ZEC’s 2027 low at $848.25 and its average at $1,211.75. Its projected high, reached in December, is $280.92 short of $2,000. None of its monthly estimates for that year crosses the $2,000 mark. The figures are projections, not observed prices.
The model places a July 2028 high at $2,096.01, above $2,000. That later estimate does not change its 2027 range. A forecast for one year also cannot establish whether a separate price call with a different timeframe will prove accurate.
ZEC closed at $1,653.12 on Sept. 26. The close also stood $65.96 below the model’s projected high for 2027, although the two figures concern different years.
An earlier $2,000 ZEC price call did not set a 2027 deadline. The model’s 2027 estimate therefore does not settle that call. It shows the range the Aug. 26 model projected for that calendar year.
Zcash also has a network upgrade in development. NU7 would shorten the target interval between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. That planned protocol change concerns the pace at which the network aims to produce blocks; it does not establish a price target for ZEC.
In results posted Sept. 14 for a coinholder vote, votes representing 2,375,932.375 ZEC favored preserving halvings. Votes representing 22,384.875 ZEC backed a smoother issuance schedule. Those figures describe the amount of ZEC represented by each choice, not the number of individual voters.
An Oct. 20 proposal identifies block 3,543,405 as NU7’s mainnet activation height. The height was agreed at a ZIP editor meeting, but final changes to the upgrade documents are still needed before the proposal can be merged. It remains open, and the draft specification has not assigned a mainnet height. Nov. 5 remains the planned activation date.
