Buy orders near XRP’s $1.30 price exceeded sell offers by about 9.5 million tokens in an Oct. 18 snapshot of selected trading venues, showing a bid-side imbalance within a narrow price band.
At 8:20 a.m. ET (12:20 UTC), orders to buy within 2% below the price totaled about 44.4 million XRP. Offers within 2% above it totaled about 34.9 million XRP. The figures count orders posted at that moment, not trades that took place.
The near-price comparison covered a selected subset of venues. The wider snapshot examined 171 trading pairs across 64 venues, including markets quoted in U.S. dollars and stablecoins. Its review of sell offers extended from $1.30 to $5, a range far wider than the 2% band used for the nearby-order comparison.
Displayed orders measure a different quantity from tokens held in exchange wallets. They also differ from XRP’s circulating supply, which does not count offers available at a particular price. Traders can place or cancel orders, so the Oct. 18 snapshot does not establish how much XRP remained available afterward.
