XRP Weekly RSI Nears Bearish Cross as Analyst Cites Past Drawdowns

Steph Is Crypto says the signal is unconfirmed and a green weekly close is needed to prevent it from forming. He says a weekly close above $1.50 would confirm a major reversal.

XRP’s weekly Relative Strength Index (RSI), a momentum indicator, is nearing a bearish crossover tracked by crypto analyst Steph Is Crypto, who says the signal remains unconfirmed and has preceded losses in past cases.

Steph compares the RSI line with its moving average. A bearish cross occurs when the RSI line falls below that average. The two lines are close, but the cross has not happened.

In a Tuesday, Oct. 20 post, Steph said XRP needed a green weekly candle to prevent the signal from confirming. He described his short-term stance as bearish unless price action changes and said a weekly close above $1.50 would let him confirm a major reversal.

The historical examples in Steph’s analysis include a 41% decline over 10 weeks after a cross between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, 2022, and a 12% drop over one week after a May 2023 signal. Other listed declines were 17%, 39%, 26%, 39% and 24%, followed by a 49% decline tied to a Jan. 27 signal.

The Aug. 18, 2025 signal preceded a 64% drop. XRP had reached an all-time high of $3.65 the previous month.

An earlier weekly EMA-ribbon analysis placed the level XRP needed to reclaim at $1.36 to $1.37 before Steph would consider its trend reversed. The current analysis focuses on RSI and its moving average.
