Oil prices slipped Wednesday after news of Moscow’s readiness to return to diplomacy with Ukraine and the United States, adding a market response to the latest effort to restart negotiations.

Putin told Witkoff during their Oct. 21 meeting in St. Petersburg that Russia was ready in principle to resume the talks. The proposed discussions would focus on a security framework for Russia and Ukraine, with a possible restart around Nov. 10.

Abu Dhabi was mentioned as a possible venue. The meeting produced no announced breakthrough. TokenPost previously covered Putin’s agreement in principle to resume the trilateral talks.
