U.S. Bitcoin ETFs Lose $635 Million, Their Biggest Outflow Since June
BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC accounted for $471.6 million of the withdrawals. Another $137.9 million left the funds in the next session.

U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds lost about $635 million during the Thursday, Oct. 22, U.S. trading session, their largest daily outflow since June 25 and a sharp reversal after three days of gains.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) had $254.1 million in withdrawals, while Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) lost $217.5 million. Their combined $471.6 million represented roughly 74% of the day’s total. ARK 21Shares’ ARKB saw $109.4 million leave, while Grayscale’s GBTC shed $29.5 million and Bitwise’s BITB lost $27.4 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was the only fund in the breakdown to post an inflow, adding $2.3 million.
The reversal followed three consecutive sessions of net inflows from Oct. 19 through Oct. 21, when the funds took in about $1.1 billion. The period marked a rebound in U.S. ETF inflows. The next session, Friday, Oct. 23, also recorded net outflows, totaling $137.9 million.
The figures measure net fund creations and redemptions for each U.S. trading session. They do not identify investor motivations or establish what drove Bitcoin’s price.
