Brent crude reached $114 a barrel on Oct. 23, its highest level since May 5, after renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure revived supply concerns with implications for Bitcoin and other risk assets.

Bitcoin (BTC) continued to track broad equity sentiment rather than trade as a separate haven. Higher oil costs and financing strain around AI infrastructure could keep inflation persistent and make aggressive Federal Reserve easing harder. TokenPost previously covered Bitcoin's move alongside equities as AI credit concerns spread.

Shipping indicators offered contrasting readings. Three vessels broadcasting automatic identification system (AIS) signals were recorded in the Strait of Hormuz on Oct. 20. Oil flows, including vessels that did not transmit AIS signals, were estimated at 3.7 million to 13 million barrels per day. Visible tanker traffic remained highly distorted.
