Bonk Guy said he has begun positioning for a potential crypto-market upswing despite what he described as spreading pessimism. He cited historical averages of 1,060 days for bull-market phases and 380 days for bear-market phases, putting the bull-market average at about 2.8 times the bear-market average.

In his figures, bull-market phases account for 74% of a cycle, while bear-market phases make up 26%. The comparison describes average historical durations, not the length of every cycle.

Bonk Guy previously warned that strategies that work in bull markets may fail in bear markets. He also described the costs of overtrading in an account of his losses.
