Monthly inverse Bitcoin (BTC) options on Deribit expire on a fixed schedule, and their settlement terms define the delivery price used for contracts held through expiration.

Deribit’s monthly Bitcoin (BTC) options are scheduled to expire at 4 a.m. ET Friday, Oct. 30 (08:00 UTC), under the exchange’s last-Friday schedule.

Inverse options settle in cash. Their delivery price is calculated from the Deribit Index over the half-hour ending at expiration, from 3:30 to 4 a.m. ET.

Max pain is a calculation based on open options positions. It identifies a settlement price at which option holders collectively would receive the least, but it does not show where Bitcoin’s spot price will trade or establish that buyers will support a particular level. The previously discussed $78,000 level does not establish spot support.
