Yemen’s government forces said Houthi rebels launched ballistic missiles at Aden Airport and the Maashiq Presidential Palace Complex, as conflict-related prediction markets priced regional risks.

Contracts placed the odds of a Saudi airspace closure by Jan. 1, 2027, at 13%. A separate contract put the chance of Houthi forces entering Aden by Dec. 31 at 16.5%. Near-term contracts showed 1.2% for a Saudi closure by Nov. 1 and 0.9% for Houthi forces entering Aden by Oct. 31.

Yemen’s internationally recognized government is backed by Saudi Arabia. The Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, has said its strikes target military facilities rather than civilian sites. Earlier attacks in October also targeted the airport and palace complex and caused casualties.

Actions by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) on airspace access are key signals to watch for any closure. Further Houthi missile attacks or announcements of cease-fire or de-escalation talks are also among developments that could shift expectations about the conflict.
