Lido’s seven-day average APR for stETH reached 4.2% after starting the two-day period at 2.2%, giving holders a higher displayed staking rate, SlowMist founder 余弦 said.

In an Oct. 31 post, 余弦 linked the increase to more intense on-chain competition after what he described as a suspected theft at Binance. He said that competition raised Ethereum execution-layer rewards and benefited stETH holders.

Lido’s APR is a displayed rate for its staking service, based on a rolling seven-day average. It is not a rate for all Ethereum staking or a promise that stakers will receive the same rate for a full year.
