XRP traded 1.4% below its 200-day simple moving average in a Binance spot snapshot late Oct. 30, placing the token below a widely watched measure of its recent price trend.

At 8:57 p.m. ET Oct. 30 (00:57 UTC Oct. 31), XRP was 1.260 Tether (USDT), compared with a 200-day average of 1.278 USDT. The average was calculated from completed Binance spot XRP/USDT daily closes through Oct. 30 UTC. A simple moving average is the mean of those closing prices over the specified period.

The reading came about 29 hours after Binance said its hot wallets were compromised at about 4:05 p.m. ET (20:05 UTC) Oct. 29. Binance estimated the incident’s impact at about $6.3 billion. The sequence does not establish that the incident caused XRP’s price move.

A previous analysis of XRP’s moving averages described the token as trading above its 100-day and 200-day averages. The Oct. 30 snapshot placed XRP below the 200-day average at that time.
