Coinbase Bitcoin Discount Against Binance Hits 2026 High

Binance’s withdrawal pause constrained arbitrage and made the spread a less reliable U.S. demand signal. Withdrawals have since resumed.

The Coinbase-Binance price gap for Bitcoin (BTC) reached its widest point of 2026, with Coinbase trading at a discount to Binance’s USDT-adjusted price. The spread compares prices for the same asset on two exchanges, making it a relative measure rather than a standalone reading of U.S. buying.

Binance’s earlier withdrawal suspension constrained arbitrage between the exchanges. That made the gap a less reliable signal of underlying U.S. market demand while the pause was in effect.

Binance has restored withdrawals, and whether the spread narrows gradually remains to be seen. A narrower gap would mean Coinbase’s relative discount had shrunk compared with Binance’s USDT-adjusted price.

Earlier Coinbase price comparisons found that readings differed by venue, with Coinbase near parity against some dollar-based exchanges.
