21shares Puts Bitcoin’s Annualized Volatility at 44% in Portfolio Analysis
The comparison listed Tesla at 46% and Palantir at 59%. Bitcoin’s three-year correlation with gold was 4% from October 2023 through September 2026.

A 21shares digital-asset allocation analysis put Bitcoin’s annualized volatility at 44% in the 12 months through Sept. 30, 2026, and its three-year correlation with gold at 4%, figures relevant to traditional portfolio investors.
The comparison listed volatility readings of 46% for Tesla and 59% for Palantir. From October 2023 through September 2026, Bitcoin’s correlation was 38% with U.S. stocks and 11% with real estate. Those percentages describe how closely Bitcoin moved with the other asset groups during that period.
21shares’ backtest found that adding a 2% to 5% digital-asset allocation to a traditional 60/40 stock-and-bond portfolio improved risk-adjusted returns over the same three-year period. The analysis characterized Bitcoin as an alternative-asset allocation, Ether (ETH) as a technology-growth asset and Solana (SOL) as a higher-risk growth allocation.
